12-Module Training Program
Our comprehensive curriculum covers everything you need to become a certified phlebotomy technician.
Week 1: Foundations
PHB 101: History of Phlebotomy
Introduction to the profession, its evolution, and the role of phlebotomists in modern healthcare.
PHB 102: Quality Assurance & Safety
Quality control procedures, infection control protocols, and comprehensive safety standards.
PHB 103: Medical Terminology
Essential medical vocabulary, abbreviations, and terminology used in healthcare settings.
PHB 104: Anatomy & Physiology
Human body systems with focus on circulatory system, blood composition, and vascular anatomy.
Week 2: Core Skills
PHB 105: Blood Collection & Venipuncture
Equipment selection, proper technique, and venipuncture procedures. Extensive hands-on practice.
PHB 106: Pre-analytical Considerations
Patient preparation, specimen collection variables, and factors affecting test results.
PHB 107: Capillary Puncture
Capillary blood collection equipment, procedures, and techniques for finger and heel sticks.
Week 3: Advanced Techniques
PHB 108: Special Collections & POCT
Specialized collection procedures and point-of-care testing techniques.
PHB 109: Arterial Puncture
Advanced arterial blood gas collection procedures and safety protocols.
PHB 110: Non-blood Specimens
Collection and handling of urine, throat swabs, and other non-blood specimens.
PHB 111: Skill Laboratory
Intensive hands-on practice and skill refinement in controlled lab environment.
Week 4: Clinical Externship
PHB 112: Clinical Externship (40 hours)
Real-world experience at partnered healthcare facilities. Apply classroom knowledge in professional settings under supervision.

What You Need to Enroll
Before You Apply
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- TB test (current)
- Background check (conducted after acceptance)
- Valid government-issued photo ID
Before First Class
- Red scrubs (top and bottom)
- Closed-toe rubber sole shoes
- Watch with second hand
Dress Code & Professional Standards
Students must maintain professional appearance at all times during class and clinical:
- Red scrubs (required uniform)
- Student badge (visible at all times)

Important Information
Attendance Policy
This is a clock hour program requiring completion of all designated hours. Students may have 2 excused absences with proper documentation (cannot be used during externship). Arriving more than 30 minutes late counts as an absence. More than 2 absences result in dismissal.
Payment Schedule
Enrollment deposit: $500 reserves your seat
First payment: 50% of tuition ($1,650) due before first class
Final payment: Remaining 50% ($1,650) due by Friday of Week 5

Certification
Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate of Completion from Global MedPath Institute and are prepared to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.
